Memories

Outside of Cinderella’s Castle, you will find an majestic topiary near the moat surrounding the castle. This topiary serves as a reminder of the Plaza Swan Boats that once floated around the castle seasonally between 1973 and 1983.

Vinylmations and Dancing Girls
Posted by Ashley Rae on June 23, 2009
This Vinylmation was purchased again as a gift. This time I spent the extra money for Father’s Day.
This Vinylmation is limited to 400 pieces and was created by Lin Shih. I could not fully investigate this Big Thunder Mountain Vinylmation because I had to keep up appearances, but on the back of the right ear, there is a Hidden Mickey in the clouds.

Prepare for Launch

Wanted to give you a couple photos from one of the last times I rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority through Space Mountain before the refurbishment. Luckily the lights were on. Sorry for the quality… any Space Mountain is better than no Space Mountain.

Colors of the Wind- Peter Pan’s Flight Take II
Posted by Ashley Rae on June 13, 2009
I hope I am assuming correctly that this is Captain Hook’s ship the Jolly Roger. The weathervane is placed next to the crocodile atop Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland.
After reading Peter and the Starcatchers, my memories of the film have been slightly altered by the prequel which I hope to discuss in the future.

Addendum: Disney’s Longest Refurbishment II
Posted by Ashley Rae on June 13, 2009
The kitchen inside Mickey’s Country House is not just being refurbished but has been entered into a contest. Apparently Donald and Goofy have entered Mickey’s Toontown Fair’s Kitchen Remodeling Contest. I wonder what the other entries look like…

Having a Magical Time- Fantasyland Stroller Parking
Posted by Ashley Rae on June 13, 2009
This location was originally used as the Fantasyland Skyway station. The attration opened with the park on October 1, 1971 and closed in November 1999. Now the area has been reserved for strollers for the local attractions. The clock atop the tower seems almost hidden, but a clock nonetheless.

Be More Welcomed…
Posted by Ashley Rae on June 13, 2009
Randy Pausch (1960-2008) was an Imagineer with the Walt Disney Company and was a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Following his death, Walt Disney World erected this quote on the side of The Mad Tea Party.
It states “Be good at something, it makes you valuable… Have something you bring to the table, because that will make you more welcome.”
